This is an examination of spectroscopic, chromatographic and electrophoretic methods of chemical analysis, which describes all sampling methods, sample pre-treatments and concentration procedures. The text specifically aims to provide an overview of new experimental and developmental trends. Information is provided on the mechanisms of separation, detection and identification of the separated components. The text also covers developments in instrumentation, including new detection methods, column miniaturization in gas and liquid chromatography and field-flow fractionation. The applications of chromatographic analytical methods in biochemical analysis are emphasized and consideration is also given to the optimization of analytical methods and the instrumentation employed in analytical laboratories.
