Note
Institut založený v roce 1698 Augustem Hermannem Franckem původně jako škola pro chudé a sirotčinec. V roce 1701 byla pak zřízena tiskárna a dále knihkupectví, knihařství, lékárna a kabinet přírodnin. V roce 1708 začal vydávat Hallsche Zeitung. V tiskárně byly mimo jiné až do 20. století tištěny Bible, vydávané biblickou společností Cansteinsche Bibelanstalt, založenou v roce 1710 Carlem Hildebrandem von Canstein a Augustem Hermannem Franckem. V současnosti se věnuje kulturním, vědeckým, pedagogickým a sociálním aktivitám.
